TODAY, Sunday 19th March: at Pocklington Methodist Church,the District are holding a Lay Synod from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm. See poster on the notice board.
Monday 20th March: Luncheon Club.
Tuesday 21st March: 10.30 am for 11.00 am Tuesday Focus when the speaker will be Revd. Richard Hare with a talk entitled “My Faith Journey”.
Tuesday 21st March: 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm Tuesday Circle.
Tuesday 21st March: 7.15 pm to 8.15 pm Choir practice.
Wednesday 22nd March: Midweek service with Communion followed by refreshments.
Thursday 23rd March: 10.00 am to 12.00 noon Coffee Morning.
Thursday 23rd March: 11.30 am to 12.00 noon Silent Prayer meeting in church.
Thursday 23rd March: 7.30 pm The Housegroup will meet at the home of Sally and Frederick Robson, 16 Poplar Drive. To prepare, please read Chapter 6 of the book “How to be a bad Christian”. Visitors to the group will be made very welcome.
Saturday 25th March: 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm Messy Church will meet for family fellowship and friendship. All are welcome to come along and join in the fun.
Saturday 25th March: 2.00 pm at the Methodist Central Hall, Queen Street, Scarborough. An afternoon of comedy, music and drama entitled “Not the Royal Variety Performance”. The Compere and Comedian will be Revd.Graham Morgan and there will be items from Ebony Clarinet Ensemble, Queen Street Singing for Fun group and the Queen Street Players. Tea and Cakes to finish. There is no charge but donations will be taken to support the MHA Priceholme Amenity Fund. Priceholme, your local Methodist Home.
On Monday 27th March: at 2.00 pm at St. John’s Burlington, The Daffodil Rally will take place. The Leader will be Lorna Staveley, the Speaker will be Margaret Preece and the Ad Hoc Choir will be singing. All are welcome to attend. See poster on the notice board.
On Saturday 6th May: there will be a Grand Auction at St. John’s Burlington. Proceeds will be shared between the Church and The Samaritans. Have you got things that are just too good to throw out but they need to go? They need quality donations that can be auctioned to raise church funds and to help the Samaritans to continue to offer their services. If you have items for the auction, please contact Dave Wilcockson on 01262 606781 or any of the SJB church stewards who will help to arrange transport. The Woodcock Trust is offering a two bedroom flat for rent conveniently located near to the town centre. The flat will be available at the end of March at a rent of £250 per month.
