NOTICES FOR SUNDAY 15th OCTOBER 2017

This week’s events:

Tuesday 17th October: 10.30 am for 10.50 am Tuesday Focus when the speaker will be Revd. John Fisher with a talk entitled “The History of Methodism in Bridlington”.   Please note the earlier time for the start of the talk.

Tuesday 17th October: 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm Ladies Circle.

Tuesday 17th October: There will be no choir practice today.

Thursday 19th October: 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. Coffee morning.

Thursday 19th October: 11.30 am to 12.00 noon Silent Prayer meeting in church.

Saturday 21st  October:7.30 pm   5 Star Brass will be giving a concert of music to suit all tastes. Geoff Bellamy is part of this brass quintet. Tickets costing £5 pp which includes refreshments, are available from Jean Reddington or Karen Banks and will also be available on the door. Do come along and enjoy an evening of varied entertainment.

Forthcoming Events:

The next Messy Church will be on Saturday 4th November due to half term. Well done to all our children who entered work in the Autumn Show. Congratulations to Annabelle Winterbottom, first, and Caitlin Painter, third, in the decorated wooden spoons; Toby Gee, second in the book marks, and Caitlin Painter, second in the posters.

Other Notices:

Message from John Hall: Today, there will be a Christmas decoration on display in the hall which will be available to buy with profits going to church funds.  They will be made to order at a cost of £10 each, payable on receipt, and available during the first week in December. If you would like to order one, please put your name and contact details on the form provided.

Items for ‘Link to Hope’ Shoeboxes:

If you would like to join with us as a church to fill boxes for families and elderly people living in Romania, here is a list of items week by week to be put into the boxes in the vestibule.

October 15th: Socks, tights, shampoo/shower gel (max.size 300ml) cloth hankies, shopping bag, scarf, lavender bags, work gloves.

October 22nd: Money to send boxes  £2 per box.

IBRA Reading notes: “Fresh from the Word” notes will be ordered at the end of October, priced at £9.95 per copy or £9.00 if we order 3 copies or more. If you would like a copy, please add your name to the list on the notice board in the vestibule by the end of Saturday 28th October.

Harvest collections;

Proceeds from the Harvest Supper amounted to £218 and the collection from the Smartie tubes raised £626.62. Very many thanks to all involved.
